The main idea behind the exercise is to learn about the decision tables being used in the professional world. In order to get more deeper understanding about the concept, decision table were developed by the student using prologa software. A transportation system for a particualr city was chosen by each student as a case study and decision tables were developed accordingly using the software. At the end presentation was given and discussion was held for each case study.
Chosen City Dusseldorf:
Düsseldorf is the capital city of the German state of NRWF. It is the second most international and economically important centre of Germany, after Franfurt and is located in the center of the Rhein-Ruhr area, Europe's most populated metropolitan area. The city is situated on the River Rhine, and is renowned for its many events and also for its fashion and trade fairs. Every July more than 4.5 million people visit the Größte Kirmes am Rhein funfair in Dusseldorf.
Transportation System:
The city is a major hub in the Deutche Bahn (DB) railway network. More than 1,000 trains stop in Düsseldorf every day. The central railway station at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz is located in Düsseldorf's city centre. Several S-Bahn connect Düsseldorf to the other cities of Rhine-Ruhr. The light rail system also serves neighbouring cities and is partially operated underground. The Central Station and the Airport Station (Flughafen-Bahnhof) are connected to the national and European high speed (Intercity / Eurocity, IC / EC) and extreme high speed InterCityExpress.

For traveling within germany Deutche Bahn provides a variety of services for its customers. If a person is traveling with family or friends then he can use family discount tickets but if he is alone he can use standart ticket for his journey.

Standard Ticket:
For Standard Ticket two options are available.
One can buy a ticket with regular price in which you have the option of chosing any train service at any time which suits him. One can refund the ticket without any cost.
In other case, one can chose for 25 to 50% discount fares. To obtain the Savings fare 25 the ticket has to be bought at least three days in advance. It is only available for round trips. For Savings fare 50 additional weekend restricitions apply. The return trip cannot be any sooner than the following Sunday. If you travel on a Sunday you may already return that following Saturday. If you travel on Saturday or Sunday you may return that same day. Savings fare tickets are subject to availability.
Dauer Ticket:
By using Dauer Ticket one can travel comfortably and inexpensively all over Germany for as little as EUR 29 . A single 2nd class ticket costs EUR 29 when purchased on the Internet or from a DB vending machine. For availing this service one has to make advance booking 3 days before the journey and the booking and ticket validity period are fixed.
Länder-Ticket:
For traveling with family or friends one can use lander tickets. For up to 5 persons traveling together or for parents (or one parent or grandparent) traveling with any number of their children or grandchildren under 15. The ticket is only valid for one day in 2nd class. They are valid from Monday to Friday for one day of your choice from 9 a.m. until 3 a.m. of the following day Some tickets can also be used for nighttime travel, they are valid from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.
Happy Weekend Ticket:
If you are a tourist or you are travelling within a certain region or at the weekends, weekend ticket is the best option. The ticket costs 37 Euros and its valid for up to 5 persons travelling together and for parents travelling with their children aged 14 or younger on Saturdays or Sundays.
